G:et to the beach with the G:01/05/2018
The Gold Coast is the home of surf, sand and sun and riding the G: can link you to a whole lot of places.
Want to G:et surfing?
As it happens, the Gold Coast is home to the only trams in the world that have surfboard holders. So why not put them to use? Surfboard holders can be found in the centre two carriages of each tram and will help keep your surfboard safe and secure for your trip. For safety, we do ask that you always use the surfboard holders when travelling with a surfboard.
No need to worry about a carpark by the foreshore, just get on the G: and we’ll link you with some of the Gold Coast’s best beaches. Surfers Paradise beach, Main Beach and Kurrawa beach are all within reach when you ride the G:.
Want to G:et to the beach?
The Gold Coast has some fantastic beaches, and the G: can link you to several. Pick any station in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach and head east, and you’re bound to find a stretch of sand with your name on it. Relax and let the sound of the waves soothe away the stress of the city.
Please remember to always Slip, Slop, Slap, and swim only between the flags on patrolled beaches. Not sure which beaches are patrolled? Check out. <http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/documents/bf/beach-patrol-brochure.pdf>
Want to G:et the family out and about?
Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? G:link can link you to some pretty cool parks.
Broadwater Parklands is a good spot for the family. You can let the kids loose in the playground (equipped with bouncy pillow) or have a play in the Rock Pools area. During summer you can let the kids (big and small) enjoy the AquaSplash park.
It’s simple to get to Broadwater Parklands, get off the tram at Southport and head down the outside mall area to find the entrance to Broadwater Parklands.
Want to go further south with the family? We have you covered here too. Head to Broadbeach North. Nearby you’ll not only find heaps of restaurants, but also an amazing playground guaranteed to tire the kids out. For the adult children, Kurrawa Surf Club is nearby as well for some well-deserved rest.
No matter your age, or interest, the Gold Coast has you covered when it comes to sun, sand and good times.
What are you waiting for? And remember kids travel free on weekends too when touching on and off on their child go card and travelling with an adult.
