Capes at the ready — the Gold Coast Superhero Weekend is returning to Broadbeach in 2020, celebrating all things out of this world from March 13-15.

For those new to this event, Gold Coast Superhero Weekend is a three-day spectacle, releasing inner superheroes through a program based on immersive pop culture, kookiness and pure unadulterated fun. Undoubtedly the most popular on the program lineup is the Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo, held at the Gold Coast Exhibition Centre over two massive days. Here, attendees can meet celebrities, participate in cosplay, join fan clubs and creative masterclasses, listen in on celebrity Q&A’s, see wrestling, tournaments and competitions, plus enjoy a hall full of shopping possibilities.

Over the road in Victoria Park, Star Wars sets the scene for a 2020 intergalactic spectacular, providing photo opportunities mixed with Intergalactic Yoga, Star Wars cosplayers, Sons of Obiwan Light Saber Academy and exclusive screenings of Star Wars themed movies. Attendees can also catch an exclusive screening of Elstree 1976 and have a good laugh with the 1987 satirical comedy, Spaceballs courtesy of Gold Coast Film Festival.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Gold Coast Superhero Weekend without the iconic Supanova Parade! Set your alarms early on Sunday March 14 to watch your favourite characters from comic books, film, television, video games and more take over the streets in Australia’s largest Superhero Parade, led by George Lazenby of James Bond fame.
