Bikes on board?

G:link is all about green travel. The light rail will reduce local greenhouse gas emission by 114,000 tonnes over the first 10 years of operation.  A single 43.5m long tram is able to carry over 309 passengers, equivalent to six standard buses and has the potential to remove up to 235 cars from the road during peak periods.

We encourage other forms of active travel as well, and while only fold up bikes are permitted on board the trams (when folded and in a carry case), we have bike racks at or near every station. City of Gold Coast has also provided bike sheds at the following tram stations:

  • Gold Coast University Hospital
  • Griffith University
  • Queen Street
  • Southport
  • Nerang Street
  • Cypress Avenue
  • Broadbeach South.

For more information on using the bike sheds, visit the City of Gold Coast website.
