School leavers will soon commence celebrations at Schoolies 2023 in Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach from 18 November 2023. To all our regular passengers be assured that you won’t need to change your travel plans, because our G:link services will have you covered.

In addition to our regular services, we will be running extra tram services in the evenings to help get Schoolies home again from 19 to 23 November 2023.

If you plan on Riding the G: it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1. Before commencing your travel download the MyTranslink or the My G: app to plan your journey and stay up to date on real-time service changes or disruptions.
2. Once you get to the station, purchase your ticket, or go card using a ticket machine which is available at every station across the G:link network. If you’re paying for an adult fare, you can take advantage of Smart Ticketing by tapping on and tapping off with a contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express debit or credit card, smartphone, or smart device. If you’re planning on transferring to a bus service or you’re travelling on a concession fare, please continue to use your go card.

Handy hint: Don’t forget Schoolies can continue to use their concession go cards to save 30% on their travel. If you’re travelling on a concession fare, ensure you have your concession ID with you at all times.

3. Remember to Think Safe, Stay Safe when boarding, disembarking, travelling on or near the G:link trams. Tracks are for trams – never walk, cycle, drive, or ride on the tracks or in front of a tram at any time. This includes scooters and mopeds. Always use the designated pedestrian crossings to cross the tracks and look up and listen for trams. For more information visit this page.

Remember that there is no free travel on the tram, you must travel with a valid ticket at all times. Ticket checks happen every day, anywhere and anytime so G:et a ticket or G:et a fine.
