G:et ready Gold Coast, Laneway Festival is heading to the GC this summer and will be held at Southport Sharks on Saturday 7 February 2026, featuring artists such as Chappell Roan, Alex G, Benee, and Cavetown.
G:link services have been extended to help G:et you to and from the event, with trams operating every 7.5 minutes from 1pm to 9pm and every 6.5 minutes from 9pm to 12am. The closest station to the event is Griffith University station. It’s only a 10–15-minute walk from the station to the event.
G:etting there is cheap and easy, pay only 50 cents per journey with these easy payment options:
- contactless Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card or digital wallet linked to your smartphone, smart watch, or smart device. Please present one card or device per customer travelling. Remember to tap on and off with the same one to avoid being charged an extra fee. For example, if you tapped on with your smart watch tap off with it too.
- go card – please tap your go card to a validator on the station platform at the beginning and end of each trip.
- a pre-purchased paper ticket. Available from fare machines located at G:link stations. Paper tickets are valid for one way travel only.
Fines apply if you are caught riding the G: without a valid ticket!
Travelling from Brisbane?
If you’re travelling from Brisbane, simply catch the train and transfer to the tram at Helensvale station. Alternatively, if you prefer to drive, you can park the car for free at the Park ‘n’ Ride car parks at Helensvale and Parkwood. The closest station to the event is Griffith University station.
