Here at G:link we have witnessed some heart stopping incidents where distracted pedestrians have walked straight into the path of oncoming trams. Recently, a young Brazilian man named Caio ended up colliding with a tram. What should have been a routine walk to the tram station had a very different outcome for Caio that morning, all because he was distracted and still had his earbuds in listening to loud music.

Caio was extremely lucky to have walked away unharmed. A few steps further forward and the outcome could have been significantly different.

- Ditch the distractions – put your phone down and remove your headphones.
- Don’t rush to catch the tram – another one will be along in a matter of minutes.
- Tracks are for trams – don’t walk along the tracks and always use the designated entry and exit points.
