With public transport fares now only costing 50 cents, and more payment options available, there is no excuse to Ride the G: without a valid ticket. Ticket checks happen anywhere, anytime. Travel for 50 cents or get a fine of $322. That is the equivalent of 644 paid trips on the G: What would you rather? Pay your fare, keep it fair.
Last year our Customer Service Officers conducted over 1.2 million ticket checks and issued more than 23,000 fines and warnings to customers travelling without a valid ticket. These Officers are constantly monitoring the G:link network to ensure customer safety and fare compliance.
Ride the G: with ease knowing you have a valid ticket. It’s easy to do, see the payment options below:
• Contactless Payment: Tap your contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit or debit card or digital wallet linked to your smartphone, smart watch, or smart device to a validator on the station platform at the beginning and end of each trip. Please present one card or device per customer travelling.
• go card: Tap your go card to a validator on the station platform at the beginning and end of each trip.
• Paper tickets: Pre-purchased paper tickets are available from fare machines located at all G:link stations. Paper tickets are valid for one way travel only.
By ensuring everyone travels with a valid ticket, it benefits the whole community! The Queensland Government is able to invest in new and improved public transport services, which benefits all Queenslanders. So, remember to pay your fare, keep it fair! It’s only 50 cents.
