Schoolies will soon descend on Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, starting 19 November 2022. But there’s no need to change your travel plans, because G:link has it covered.
In addition to our regular services, from 19 to 26 November 2022, the G: will be running an extra service on weekday evenings to get Schoolies home again.
G:link would like to welcome all Schoolies and remind them that there is NO FREE TRAVEL on the tram, you’ll need to tap on and tap off with your go card at the beginning and end of each trip or purchase a paper ticket before you start your journey. Don’t forget schoolies can continue to use their concession go cards and save 30% on their fare.
If you’re paying an adult fare, Smart Ticketing is another way to pay when riding the G: and is available by tapping on and tapping off with a contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express debit or credit card, smartphone or smart device to pay for your journey. If you’re planning on transferring to a bus or train service, or if you’re travelling on a concession fare, please continue to use you go card.
Ticket checks happen every day, so make sure you always travel with a valid ticket as fines do apply.
