Summon the power of the Dragon Gods of the Four Seas. The four dragons, gods of the four seas in China are believed to influence the weather and water systems. Jason Phu will collaborate with our ArtLab children to create dragon masks that mirror his installation. The children will be able to parade this costume across the HOTA terrace in a noisy parade reminiscent of Chinese dragon dances.

This workshop will elaborate on the historical, cultural and religious aspects of the four dragons and how they might fit into contemporary issues of our changing climate. There are two sessions, the first from 10:00–11:00 am is suitable for children aged five to 10 and the second session from 1:00–2:00 pm is for children aged 11 to 16 years.

ArtLab is presented by HOTA as part of the OUT LOUD Festival of events – for a complete list of happenings, jump over here.
