Known as the firebrand trumpet-playing vocalist from the hugely successful band The Cat Empire, Harry James Angus is bringing his electrifying talent to HOTA. A mainstay of the Australian music industry, his full-time role with The Cat Empire has achieved six Australian top ten albums, international charting success, appearances at Glastonbury and Montreal Jazz, and TV appearances with Letterman and Leno.
His solo work takes on a life of its own, embracing his raw intensity, artistic chaos and power that helped make The Cat Empire an incandescent live experience and repurposing this energy towards a more emotionally charged universe.
Inspired by artists like Nina Simone, Van Morrison, Antony & The Johnsons, and John Coltrane, Harry’s third song from his new body of work “Old Fashioned Mayhem”, completely lives up to its name.
And who wants to go home early on a Saturday night? Not us – so on the night you’ll be able to purchase some food for Supper so you can keep the night going after Harry’s performance. And we’ll keep the drinks flowing, with the bar open for purchases throughout the evening.
