HOTA and the Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club are joining forces to celebrate International Jazz Day with a huge evening of live music on Thursday April 30.
Starring James Morrison and his 18-piece Jazz Orchestra, the International Jazz Day celebrations will take the stage at HOTA from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Local big band Sweet Thunder will also appear, featuring a raft of the best local players drawing on the legacy of Ellington, Strayhorn, Basie and more. The evening will also feature the debut of the Jazz Gold Coast Inc All-Star Schools Big Band, comprising of the next generation of emerging jazz musicians.
