Ride the G: to Broadbeach South Station, catch the 777 Bus (Tweed Heads) to Burleigh Heads.

If Melbourne Cup for you is first and foremost about the fashion, food and fun (not to mention bubbles overlooking beautiful Burleigh beach), book a seat at Burleigh Pavilion’s beachside function. Along with all of the usual cup-day entertainment on the big screens, there will be resident DJ’s spinning party tunes and prizes for best dressed. The day’s menu will feature Sydney rock oysters, fresh prawns with cocktail sauce, garlic bread with prosciutto di Parma, braised-lamb shoulder and roast pumpkin with freekeh, kale and pomegranate. Tables at Burleigh Pavilion’s Melbourne Cup event are limited to six or 12 people and are $90 per person. To book, jump over here.
