A kaleidoscope of eye-popping neon and ultra-bright waves of colour are set to fill Instagram feeds these school holidays as Neon Paradise (aka the ultimate selfie backdrop!) arrives to light up the heart of the Paradise Centre in Surfers Paradise from Saturday September 19 to Monday October 5.

Neon Paradise is a towering four-metre-wide, two metre-high light installation that’ll be popping and flashing with 18 different ‘quintessentially Gold Coast’ custom-built neon-lit graphics – from the iconic beach-safety flags to a pair of rubber thongs, a melted ice-cream, a cuddly koala, ocean waves and many more wild and wonderful locally inspired creations. Framed by sparkling tinsel walls, the vibrant (and all-ages!) Neon Paradise precinct is completely free to visit, and will be ablaze with rainbow hues from 9:00 am through to 9:00 pm every single day. Get your iPhones ready, strike a pose and snap away – definitely no filters required!

The fun doesn’t stop there! On Friday and Saturdays between 5:00–8:00 pm, Neon Paradise is upping the ante with a live DJ spinning dance-worthy tunes in the centre court across both nights. Feeling lucky? You could also win one of nine Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 cameras and film bundles (valued at $118 each) – all you need to do is share your fabulous colour-filled snap to Instagram, tag @paradisecentre and use the hashtag #neonparadise. Easy! Plus, you can stick around and grab a bite with the fam, then tack on more kid-friendly fun while you’re at it – dodgem-car battle at Timezone, anyone?

Gather the kids and take in the neon-soaked sights and selfie-snap your way through Neon Paradise. The pop-up precinct will run daily from Saturday September 19 to Monday October 5. For more information, scoot to the Paradise Centre website.
