The Pacific Airshow is flying into Surfers Paradise from August 18–20. The best seats in the house are at none other than Paradise Centre, which is celebrating the aviation event with Paradise Air, an airshow extravaganza that promises non-stop thrills, flavoursome fare, fabulous freebies and even some feathered friends. You can expect DJs on the decks, free fairy floss and a range of freebies to keep your spirits as high as the sky. There will also be roving entertainment throughout the weekend, with the Birds of Paradise – Beau the Budgie, Chip the Seagull and the newest superstar, Lucy the Lorikeet – peacocking around the joint. Make sure to stop and strike a pose for a cheeky pic!
Those after a few gravity-defying giggles can get their chuckle fix courtesy of roving comedy duos, while Top Gun-themed breakdancing mavericks will be busting moves that would colour Kenny Loggins impressed. Little ones can even get in on the fun at the Take Flight Kids Zone on level one near Zone Bowling, where they can design, colour and craft their very-own plane before testing its airborne ability. Youngsters can also skilfully navigate the Take Flight claw machine through turbulence for a shot at winning a Beau the Budgie plushie.
While you’re there, get some things ticked off your shopping list because from August 18–20, every dollar you spend in centre spells freebies. You can score $20 Paradise Centre gift cards, Bluetooth speakers, bucket hats, reusable coffee cups, water bottles, and trendy tote bags. To claim your prize, all you have to do is present a valid receipt (or a few – you can combine receipts) from participating retailers at the check-in desk in the beachfront dining precinct.
