Join thousands of people to bring a spectacular human art installation to life on Sunday February 23 as part of the Sand Safari Arts Festival in Surfers Paradise.

This community-minded collective will form a massive speech bubble with the message ‘#yourstory’ as part of Sand Talk, an immersive art experience aimed at sparking conversations about mental health and wellbeing. Sand Talk will invite visitors to share notes or words about mental health and wellbeing on a large white container that will appear on the Surfers Paradise foreshore from Friday February 14. Then, on Sunday February 23, Sand Talk will come alive with a Community Day to mark the opening of the container and the chance for visitors to step inside and share messages on its interior.

A range of mental health and charity groups will be on-site to host stalls and provide support, while volunteers overseeing the installation will be able to share information about such organisations throughout the festival. The Community Day will then culminate when thousands of friends and strangers take to the sands of Surfers Paradise Beach to form the symbolic human art installation.
