Broadway is coming to the Gold Coast in 2020 with HOTA set to host the first Secret Broadway headliner Shoshana Bean on Saturday February 22.
Taking a page from the award-winning book by Jack Viertel, ‘The Secret Life of the American Musical: How Broadway Shows are Built’, Secret Broadway (created by emmy-award winning songwriter and composer Lance Horne) will light up HOTA in a series of unforgettable evenings of musical magic alongside a series of special guests.
We’ve all got a favourite song etched in our memories – from the big opening, to the conditional love song, the ‘I want’ ballad, the triumphant 11 o’clock number. Nothing unlocks the love of theatre like a musical – and Lance and Shoshona are inviting audiences to fall in love with their favourite songs all over again. In HOTA’s first Secret Broadway evening, it’s ‘curtain up’ as we celebrate the opening numbers of Broadway in all their glory, from Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’ to I Hope I Get It, and plenty more.
Award-winning composer, pianist, singer and music director Lance Horne will host, joined by Shoshana Bean who will be performing after her recent number 1 debut on the Billboard Jazz charts and sold out international concerts.
The Secret Broadway show starts at 7:30 pm and tickets can be purchased online through HOTA.
