Get set to treat your ears, eyes and mind with powerful live music, sensory art, dance, soundscapes, circus and film at HOTA this October – the city’s arts precinct will be home to a massive 11-day program of free and ticketed events, aptly named WONDER, which will run from October 1–11.

Headlining HOTA’s spring events program is Gaia – an awe-inspiring installation featuring a seven-metre replica of Earth, featuring exceptionally detailed images from NASA showing the globe’s surface the way only astronauts have witnessed before – from outer space. If you head there on a Friday evening (October 2 and 9), you can chill at the Lawn Bar and take in the magnificent Gaia backdrop with a wine in hand as the sun sets, or ogle it in the daylight at the free outdoor Yoga on The Lawn sessions, held on Sundays (October 4 and 11) right under the majestic Earth replica.

On Saturday October 3, Sounds of Wanderlust, curated and directed by ARIA Award-winning guitar virtuosa Karin Schaupp, will light up the outdoor stage for a glorious Saturday night of tunes, then on Saturday October 10 experience Return to Earth – an evening performance of contemporary dance, music and circus on the Outdoor Stage. The program rounds out in spectacular fashion with The Birth and Death of Stars – a live show of exotic rhythms and melodies by beat makers Mzaza, performed on the Outdoor Stage right underneath Gaia. That’s just some of the highlights, folks – peep the full WONDER program here and start planning!
