G:et around the Gold Coast

Welcome to the Gold Coast! Don’t want the hassle of a hire car whilst you’re here? Let us take care of driving! The G: can connect you to some of the Gold Coast’s most iconic destinations. And it starts right here at the airport. Simply catch the 777 bus from the airport and connect with the G: at Broadbeach South station. The 777 bus runs regularly, visit the Tranlink website to view the timetable. The G: timetable is below:

Before you get onboard make sure you have a valid ticket:

All customers can tap on and off with a go card or go explore, or purchase a paper ticket to travel on G:link and beyond. Note: paper tickets are valid for one way travel only.

Adult customers can tap on and off with a contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express to pay for their travel on G:link with Smart Ticketing. This option is currently only available on the G:link network.

Fines apply if you are caught using public transport without a valid ticket!

Travel tip: go card or go explore card can be purchased at the airport. Since Wednesday 25 March 2020, some public transport services in South East Queensland will only accept pre-paid tickets to reduce cash handling. This means you will need to use your go card, go explore card rather than purchasing a ticket or topping up on-board.

Note: All G:link platforms have ticket machines that enable you to purchase a paper ticket or to top up go card or go explore. In addition on the G:link network adult customers can tap on and off with a contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express to pay for their travel with Smart Ticketing. Regular Translink fares and conditions of travel apply on all services.

The Beach: No holiday to the Gold Coast is complete without a stop at the beach. Swim, surf or simply relax in the sun! From Surfers Paradise to Broadbeach, the G: will take you to some the Gold Coast’s best beaches.

Surfers Paradise: Surfers Paradise has long been a holiday hot spot. Most famous for its sunny beach, Surfers Paradise is also home to a wide range of entertainment for the big and little kids. There are numerous attractions scattered throughout the city including SkyPoint Observation Deck, TimeZone, iFLY, Holey Moley Putt Putt and Strike Bowling to name a few!

Broadbeach: Sit back and soak in the relaxed beachside atmosphere in Broadbeach. You’ll find numerous restaurants with menus that are guaranteed to tickle your tastebuds, iconic shopping at Pacific Fair and an abundance of entertainment at the Star Gold Coast.

Theme Parks: Whether you’re after big adventure thrill rides or up close and personal animal experiences, the Gold Coast Theme Parks have something for everyone. Wet ‘n’ Wild, Warner Bros Movie World, Seaworld and Dreamworld are all easily accessed via the G:link network. Learn more here.

Broadwater Parklands: Broadwater Parklands is a world-class community and cultural parkland, loved by Gold Coast residents and tourists alike. At the heart of the parklands is a vast expanse of green that is ideal for family picnics and fun. If you have kids make sure you check out the Rockpools and Bouncy Pillow!
