Trot down to Chinatown, Southport on Saturday 21 February where a vibrant melting pot of colour, cuisine, celebration and cultural entertainment awaits!
2026 is the Year of the Horse – representing vitality and perseverance.
Our Lunar New Year festivities kick off from 3pm along Davenport and Young Streets and includes:
– Lion and dragon dancers
– Kids’ activities (including lotus origami making, Chinese stamp making, woodblock printing, Chinese name writing, face painting and diabolo playing)
– SOPO interactive wishing tree
– Kizuna drummers
– Food trucks
– Market stalls
– Fireworks finale at 7:30pm.
The $5 Food Safari is also back for 2026 and will have you galloping around Chinatown feasting on the best $5 deals Southport has to offer! Keep an eye out for the downloadable map.
